About Us

venturists1

We are Sean and Jen – an American couple who left our conventional lives in 2013 and adopted a life of full-time travel. We write about our adventures in food and travel, sharing our discoveries along the way. We love to take cooking classes and food tours and share some of the amazing recipes we uncover in our food finds/recipe section. We also write about things to do in destinations that can help you get off the beaten track.

It’s important to us to live well on the road – balancing budget but not being afraid to really splurge once and a while. So we’ve included a resources section in our blog to show you how we are able to travel full-time and reveal the tools we use to make long term travel comfortable and affordable. We hope that our experiences inspire you to consider making your own dreams about travel a reality. And to even consider some destinations that may not have been on your radar (but should be!)

Come back and visit our  blog for an update on our progress – or better yet sign up for our newsletter at the bottom of this page.

I can't wait to read about your adventures and try your recipes. I made the tagine last night and it was wonderful! I have been to Marrakech and the scent from my kitchen as it slowly cooked triggered memories of the server lifting the lid of the tangine as we sat at the rooftop table in our riad. Merci for helping me experience again that spectacular evening.

Thank you for adding so many wonderful recipes from all around the world. It is pretty unique to not only desire to eat the food found across the globe but to be able to cook it if you are unable to take a trip. Thanks for sharing!

Hi Sean and Jen What a great life you guys have taken up. I see you have great marketing skills as well.

I am subscribing to your email, and we plan to visit a couple of countries in Europe, mid of this year. Can you share links/ ideas for that - maybe Italy, Spain, Slovenia. Also, we want to avoid bigger cities and really want to explore the countryside on cars, we thought of AirBnB... thoughts pls.

thanks, Ari

We haven't been to Slovenia yet but maybe later this year. We are currently in Italy in the Viterbo area. We'll have a few posts coming up soon so keep an eye out. So many beautiful towns on top of the hill, hot springs and amazing food. We are having a great time here. And yes - there are very good Airbnb options here too. In Spain you may enjoy visiting the Pyrenees. Amazing hiking, very beautiful and not crowded at all. We have a few posts about that area too. Let me know if you have questions - I'd be happy to help.
